Widow’s Group
Although there are difficulties in moving from parish to
parish, one of the advantages is the ability to accumulate
knowledge and experience from other parishes and use
that to benefit a current assignment. When I was at
Pittsburg, there was a widow’s group that met weekly to
pray the Rosary after a daily Mass and then go out for
breakfast—if they chose to do so. There were about 15 in
the group. They loved to gather for prayer, offered
support to newly (or old) grieving widows, and had some
laughs over a cup of coffee and a few eggs. I saw it as a
healthy and vibrant group and wanted to offer the same
possibility here. It was a great way of turning tragedy into
strength and fellowship. I know there are many widows
who would benefit, and a few already told me they are
interested. It is very simple in format, but profound in
benefits. I invite you, if you are a widow, to gather for the
Rosary after Mass on Thursdays (starting this week). The
Rosary is prayed daily, so you would just join in together. If
you know someone who does not get the bulletin or might
be afraid to come due to their grief, pick them up!

Grupo de Viudos/as
Aunque hay muchas dificualtades moviéndose de parroquia
en parroquia, una de las ventajas es la habilidad para
acumular conocimiento y experiencia de otras parroquias y
usar eso para el beneficio de una asignación reciente.
Cuando yo estaba en Pittsburg, ahí había un grupo de
viudas/os que se reunían semanalmente para rezar el
Rosario después de la Misa diaria y después salían a
desayunar- si ellas/os escogían hacer eso. Había como 15
en el grupo. Ellas amaban reunirse para hacer oración,
ofrecían apoyo a las nuevas (o ancianas) viudas ,y tenían
algunos momentos alegres después de una taza de café y
algunos huevos. Yo lo veía como un grupo saludable y
vibrante y quise ofrecer la misma posibilidad aquí. Era una
gran manera de convertir la tragedía en fuerza y
compañerismo. Yo se que hay muchas viudas que se
beneficiarían y algunas ya me dijeron que están
interesadas. Es muy simple en la forma pero profundo en
los beneficios. Yo los invito si ustedes están viudos/as, a
reunirnos para el Rosario después de la Misa los Jueves
(comenzando esta semana). El Rosario se reza diariamente,
así ustedes podrán reunire juntos. Si ustedes saben de
alguien que no toma el boletín o tal vez tenga temor
debido a su dolor, anímenlos!
