Middle School Athletics CSAL (Catholic Schools Activities League) 

Cross Country (6th-8th girls and boys)

CSAL Cheerleading any 8th grade girl may participate as a cheerleader. There is a fee for uniform rental. Cheer Coach/Parent leaders supervise practices and cheerleading at CSAL  sports events. 

Each child must have a physical exam after May 1st of the previous school year and prior to participating in practice or sporting events. The form is good for one school year only.

There is a fee for participation in each sport, which must be paid before your student may begin practices.

Mandatory Sports Meetings A meeting will be held prior to the start of each season. The general purpose of these meetings will be to discuss school and athletic policies and requirements. Attendance at this meeting by the student athlete and at least 1 parent is MANDATORY.

Eligibility for CSAL Participation Student participants (from all the Wichita Catholic schools in CSAL) are required to meet acceptable academic and behavior standards. Any pupil who participates in an organized team outside of school from the first day of CSAL practice to the conclusion of the post-season tournament – shall be ineligible for school teams in the same sport. 

Eligibility of CSAL, Scholar Bowl, Religion Bowl, Battle of the Books and any other St. Pat’s Activity

• Students must attend school for at least half of the school day to participate in practice or games that day. 
• Students receiving a cumulative grade of “F” in any subject area, after the first four weeks of each quarter will be ineligible to compete in St. Pat’s sponsored activities. 
• While ineligible, students will be allowed to participate in practices, but not in games, contests or meets for a full week (Monday through Sunday). Students and coaches are notified on Tuesday of ineligibility. 
• Grades are figured each week during the season, starting when practices begin. 
• Extra assignments will not be provided to accommodate eligibility. 
• The student is responsible for showing parents the written notice, explaining ineligibility. 
• Students who are suspended, in or out of school or who are expelled will not be allowed to participate in practices, games and contests on the days of the suspension through one week. Also, schools may place students on an ineligible list for not complying with school behavior policies.

Principal may limit, suspend or prohibit students from participation in athletic practice or games for academic or behavior problems, as they deems necessary.
